I’ve been leaning towards subtle, complex and textured abstract work for a while, trying to squeeze these in among my more commercially viable work. This piece is all about the hints and allusions to structure and form, shadowy ideas given substance, arcane annotations in dusty corners. It makes me think of the hours spent in the stacks of the Science Library in grad school, looking for clues to explain my data in old journals and papers my colleagues had forgotten generations ago.
