There is a certain fascination to complex drawings magnified to view up close. I find this especially true when there are numerous media used, with physicochemical interactions causing different granulation, capillary, and spreading effects. Portals is a small drawing scanned as a very large file. As a large print it provides portals into the almost micro world of detailed media interactions. An overlay of tinted geometric circular portals was used to provide order and organize the view. By tinting out certain areas and muting their contrast, the complexities and subtleties of adjoining areas are emphasized. Enjoy.
