A music inspired abstract. A suspension is a note that is held over from a previous harmony and chord structure. it becomes dissonant as the underlying harmony evolves, and then is resolved back to a consonant harmony. Here the tension between the freehand background and the strong hard edged masked foreground shapes creates the suspension. The commonality of shape between the masked linear rectangles and the background brushstrokes hints at a resolution.
