A beachscape depicting the scene as one crosses the dunes, right before emerging onto the beach. A combination of traditional painting techniques, impasto techniques using the transparency of acrylic, and textured media application was used to create the piece.
When we used to spend our summers belly boarding and surfing, I remember that my brother and I would reach the peak of our hyper ocean excitement right before we could see the beach. We'd practically race though the dunes, hit the beach, get our bearings and head for the surf.
