Description
Hour of Midas is a mixed media and acrylic painting depicting the seashore during the magic hour right around sunrise or sunset.Often the scenery at this hour takes on the strong colors in the sky. Sometimes this gives a everything a surreal warm glow. I have tried to capture this atmosphere, mood and light using mixed media, acrylic pouring and extrusion techniques and layered transparency. Light manipulating media like mica and retroreflective and lensing glass add presence and movement to the piece.
